Emotions and Color Challenge

My presentation for the group was on Emotions and Color. I have uploaded it to my site and you can find the pdf document on this page.

I printed out this presentation and made a booklet for each scrapper as a hands-on reference tool.

St. Louis Digi

Melissa with (site) Scrappin My Buns Off made this awesome kit for those attending! She sent it to me a bit too late and I hope to be e-mailing everyone a link to the kit. I believe she was the only one to make something especially for the gathering with a St. Louis theme! I loved using it!

I did not get a chance to do the challenge, so I took the opportunity to do it with the group photo using Melissa's kit which, to my surprise, was the perfect color! The ladies attending will recall that I mentioned that I utilized the orange and teal colors for room decorations to convey the emotions of joyfullness, playfullness, socialability, happiness, and creativity. When I opened up Melissa's kit tonight I was pleasantly surprised to see the same colors! It was perfect to convey the same emotions in my layout.

Please join me in the forum by utilizing the tutorial on Emotions and Color in your own layout as the ladies at the gathering did as a challenge. Choose your photos and decide what emotions you want to convey. Thereafter, choose the color that conveys those emotions and scrap!

I found inspiration for this layout in an old scraplift challenge in my forum too! You are welcome to join it also.

Hybrid Scrapbook Album - Digi + Traditional

While hanging out in Hummie's room last night, we took the opportunity to look through each other's digital scrapbook albums. It was really neat (and inspiring) to see in person how other digi-scrappers had done their layouts, and arranged them in albums, whether printed on home printers, at photo labs, or sending out to be printed as photo books.

Photobook printing options used were Shutterfly, Winkflash, and Artscow.

I shared another option - a hybrid scrapbook I made for my daughter. I created 8x8 digital layouts in PSE, then reduced the image size to 4x4. I created a blank 4x6 file, then dragged each 4x4 layout onto it, and had the 4x6 images printed at WalMart. Once printed, I cropped off the extra 2" of white photo paper, leaving just the 4x4 layout. I painted a plain 5x5 board book with acrylic paint, then adhered the layouts to each page. Voila! A hybrid scrapbook album!

I put together a video of the album last year, so I'll post it here, to help you visualize the result. (be sure to watch till the end for a quick little message from my daughter - she's so cute!)

The other digi-gatherers seemed to like the idea of this album. It's great for gift albums!

The Day After

We awoke to snow! Imagine that! It's almost April! It was only on the vehicle tops and grass and not the roads.

Time to relax the next day! The pool was wonderful!

What us scrapping!

Here we are creating our scrapbook pages.

Remember, you can visit our Flickr group to see so much more!

Lunctime

We had a great time getting to know one another over lunch in the hotel's restaurant. They didn't have enough room to seat us all together, but we made the most of it in our two groups...

Pics from Friday

I made it to St. Louis on Friday, driving in from Central Ohio. With the drive taking over six hours, I made the most of my time in the city and visited Forest Park, the Arch and Union Station. Here are photos I took during my adventure...

We have arrived

We have arrived at our hotel room. It is really quiet on our hallway and we wonder where and what rooms the others may be in. The hotel is a very nice hotel.

It is time to do some more planning before retiring for the evening. I hope that we can sleep well so that we can have a wonderful day tomorrow.

Anticipation is rising!

I watched Nancy's presentation which she has offered by video and I am so excited about it! She did an excellent, most professional work with it. Those that come to the gathering are going to love it to!

Peek

This is a really bad photo, but it is 1 a.m. and I'm still working on stuff and the lighting in my kitchen was very dim.

I really should not be sharing all this stuff with everyone and spoiling surprises! However, here's a really bad photo of the first name tag! Do you spy a color scheme again?

I used a few things from one of Tina's kits that will be available on the attendance gifts cd's I'm currently busy burning!

Inspiration!

I just finished making these cute little booklets for each person at the gathering to go with my first presentation.

I thought I would share with you the inspiration for your own scrapbooks. This is a simple, inexpensive way to bind brag books!

Of course, I'm not sharing with you just yet what the theme is.

Color Scheme

Here's a sneak peak at the color scheme for our room decorations!

I thought I'd share, just in case you want to dress to coordinate with the room. Giggle

I am imagining how funny it would be if everyone in the room coordinated with the room --- Not!

Watch us Live!

Many of us are preparing to travel great distances tomorrow.

Do be sure to check into this blog often this weekend to watch us live!
